The Snail’s Pace Café and Bike hire is situated at Wenford Bridge on Bodmin Moor. For freshly cooked wholesome foods this camel trail cafe will delight all the family. A delightfully unique and quirky off grid eaterie, comfortable and light with a good selection of local fresh foods. We are in the ideal place to start a journey on the famous camel trail where the true beauty of Cornwall can be experienced from a generally traffic free environment. Featuring over 18 miles in all from moor to sea the disused railway line follows the river camel from Wenford to Padstow in three parts.
We have a great selection of bikes and equipment for all the family. This part of the trail features beautiful woodland and riverside habitat as you meander down towards the sea taking in salt marsh and estuarine vistas. With a slight downhill following the river there are no strenuous hills so the trail provides ideal terrain for all the family. An hours gentle ride will take you into Bodmin, and for those looking for a more of a challenge, Padstow is just 17 miles, at the opposite end of the trail. In fact, if you are looking to do the full trail Wenfordbridge is the perfect choice being the furthest inland that the trail penetrates. This end of the trail is certainly quieter, so if you are looking to avoid the hoards and give your little ones the chance to build cycling confidence, Wenfordbridge is a good bet.
